The rules of cruise ship luxury are about to be rewritten by Holland America Line as it announces exciting upgrades to the suites across its Signature-Class, Vista-Class and R-Class ships.
Forget The Block and House Rules – Holland America Line is showing what it takes to deliver a luxurious makeover. The line is investing a whopping $300 million into suite enhancements, which will introduce new furniture, decadent bathroom style, USB charging ports and extra privileges.
So what does a $300-million makeover budget buy?
Living room refresh
Relaxing in the living room area will be even more comfortable thanks to the sumptuous new sofa, lounge chairs and desk chair.
Chic style
A new headboard, new carpet, wall coverings and drapery will infuse some va-va-voom into the suites, with the addition of a privacy curtain for extra intimacy. The luxurious quartz stone top to the desk, dresser, vanity and bedside tables will bring a touch of elegance.
Extra tech
New USB outlets on the bed’s headboard will make it easier to charge gadgets. The completely new interactive TV system will deliver complimentary movies on demand and access to the daily program and shipboard information. Other upgrades include new bedside LED lights, upgraded electrical outlets and handy lighting inside the wardrobe.
Bathroom makeover
Forget The Block – Holland America Line is showcasing the ultimate bathroom makeover! A wall of designer glass tiles will form the palette for the spacious new vanity area, which comes complete with new stone tops, sleek taps and under-mount sinks. Stunning floor tiles and new mirrors with integrated LED lighting enhance the feeling of space.
Suite privileges
From January 2016, suite passengers across the fleet will be able to enjoy even more privileges. Currently, suite passengers can access priority embarkation and disembarkation, exclusive use of the Neptune Lounge (Pinnacle and Neptune Suite guests only), a private breakfast served in the Pinnacle Grill, and complimentary laundry and dry cleaning. The new privileges will include a superior quilt, bathrobes and slippers, a high-performance Bose SoundDock, binoculars for use during the cruise, an in-suite coffee and espresso machine, and complimentary mimosas with the in-suite breakfast.
ms Eurodam and ms Oosterdam will be the first ships to undergo a suite revamp over the next couple of months when they head into dry dock.
They will be closely followed by ms Nieuw Amsterdam, ms Westerdam, ms Zuiderdam and ms Noordam. Last but not least, ms Amsterdam, ms Rotterdam, ms Volendam and ms Zaandam will have suite makeovers when they head into dry dock refurbishments over the next few years.
